About Subba

Care Pro Subba

Meet Subba, a physiotherapist with a passion for helping others. Subba’s journey in physiotherapy began when she graduated with an undergraduate degree in physiotherapy sciences in 2012. Since then, she has worked in various settings across the country, including a sports rehabilitation clinic in Kuala Lumpur and a hospital in Melaka.

After years of working in clinical settings, Subba decided to take a leap and become a freelancer. It was during this time that she was introduced to Homage, a professional platform that supports her and her fellow service providers in a fair and respectful manner. When Subba isn’t helping others, she loves staying active by going on hikes. She is an avid hiker who finds solace in nature’s beauty.

Through her work as a physiotherapist, Subba has positively impacted the lives of many patients. Her tailored treatment plans are designed to meet the unique needs of each patient she works with. Subba’s dedication to her patients and her passion for physiotherapy make her an inspiring figure in her field.

What inspired you to become a physiotherapist, and how did you get started in this field?

I’ve always been inspired by my dad, who wasn’t well and required a lot of assistance when I was growing up. Even though I didn’t specifically know what physiotherapy was back then, I was always curious about it. When the opportunity to learn more about the field came around after STPM, I just grabbed it. Helping others and making a positive impact through my work has been my driving force ever since, and I feel privileged to have found my calling as a physiotherapist.

What do you believe are the most important qualities that a physiotherapist should possess, and why?

As a physiotherapist, I believe that the most important quality one can possess is kindness. In order to help others, we must first have the heart to empathize with their situation and understand their needs. Along with compassion, it’s also crucial for a physiotherapist to be knowledgeable and skilled in their field. A thorough understanding of the human body, different types of injuries, and the latest techniques and technologies used in physiotherapy are essential for providing the best care possible to patients. By combining both kindness and knowledge, we can create a safe and effective healing environment for our patients.

Can you share with us a success story of a patient who achieved significant progress through your physiotherapy treatment?

I once had the privilege of treating a young child with cerebral palsy, and it was one of my most rewarding experiences as a physiotherapist. When the child first came to me, the doctors had said that nothing more could be done for them but I was determined to help this child and we started frequent physiotherapy sessions together. Over time, we were able to make significant progress, and I still remember the moment when the child was able to stand on their own feet. Seeing the joy and pride in the child and their family was truly heartwarming, and it’s moments like these that make me so passionate about my work.

What is your favourite aspect of being a physiotherapist and why it is meaningful to you?

As a physiotherapist, my favorite aspect is serving others and seeing their happiness when they start to recover. It’s a meaningful and rewarding experience to be able to help patients who may have lost hope and see them progress through physiotherapy treatment. Being able to make a positive impact on someone’s life is an incredible feeling and one of the reasons why I love my job. Seeing my patients’ smiles and hearing their words of gratitude is what makes it all worthwhile.
